One of the fastest changing areas in software development today is mobile application development. Long past are the days when writing applications targeting only Apple’s iOS platform and ecosystem was enough. With the explosion of the Android platform and devices, and with the promising Microsoft mobile platform, companies building for mobile should have presence on all three major mobile platforms.

However, this approach can be challenging because to target them all you need to write the application three times in different languages using three different IDEs. This is an error prone and expensive way to build your mobile story. That's why we focused our efforts to provide you with a full stack of cross-platform mobile tools for building applications faster and cheaper, that will likewise require less resources to support in the long run.

If you are a developer with web skills you can leverage our own Telerik Platform to build cross-platform mobile applications, NativeScript framework to build pure native apps, or Apache Cordova framework for hybrid HTML5 apps. If you are a .NET developer who loves to code in C#, a popular tool enabling you to build cross-platform native apps at the moment is Xamarin runtime. In the last several months, we worked hard to make sure that our native mobile UI components for iOS, Android and Windows run on the Xamarin platform.

Today, we are releasing our flagship component for Xamarin.Forms, which is also featured in the Xamarin keynote on the Evolve conference. More Xamarin-enabled controls for building iOS, Android and Windows Phone apps are coming with the Q3 DevTools release later this month, so stay tuned!
