RadControls for Silverlight 2.0 CTP

Moving forward with the next-generation Web Controls, Telerik is proud to announce its forthcoming CTP release of the RadContols suite for Silverlight 2.0. As always, our main goal is adding power to the default controls bundled with Silverlight 2.0. What is more, we will release controls that are not “in the box” of what Microsoft has already prepared. We will provide fully featured, lookless and completely stylable controls that will be “WPF Source Code” compatible. RadControls will allow you to accomplish Rich User Experience and deliver valuable visualizations to your custom applications. Our eye-catching examples will guide you through the process of successfully implementing RadControls for Silverlight.

We are working closely with Microsoft to make our controls compatible against the latest Silverlight plug-ins.
The public CTP edition is expected to be launched by the end of this month targeting the official BETA2 release of the Silverlight 2 plug-in. This CTP release will include the following controls:

  • RadTreeView
  • RadMenu
  • RadTabStrip
  • RadUpload
  • RadSlider
  • RadCube
  • RadNumericUpDown
  • RadProgressBar
  • RadCalendar
  • RadDatePicker
  • RadMediaPlayer

The CTP will be shipped with a complete API documentation and a sample application showing the usage of all the featured controls. Furthermore, we will include thousands of Unit tests based on the Microsoft Testing Framework.





We will greatly appreciate your feedback on whether there is something more that you expect to be included in our RadControls bundle for Silverlight2.0.

    is this version a replacement for Rad Control Ajax or is it a new product?

    When SL 2.0 is finally released, with this tool set still be free of charge? I am debating if I could start using this set of controls, but may be limited if the library won't be free.

    RadControls for Silverlight 2 is a new product line based on the Silverlight 2 platform. We are doing our best to provide a smooth experience for all people coming from ASP.NET development and starting to use RadControls for Silverlight.

    The licensing and pricing policy for RadControls for Silverlight will be finalized in the following month. As part of the Special Offer we are currently running, every customer who purchases a RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX + WinForms + Telerik Reporting License until July 15th, will receive free licenses of RadControls for Silverlight and RadControls for WPF once officially released!
