ASP.NET Ajax Controls in ASP.NET MVC - Announcing the sample application

Friday, January 16, 2009 by ASP.NET AJAX Team | Comments 6

I am glad to announce that yesterday we released a public sample application built with RadControls for ASP.NET Ajax, ASP.NET MVC and Telerik OpenAccess. You can check the online demo, or download the source code. This application is a basic online forum which uses RadControls in ASP.NET and demonstrates integration with ASP.NET MVC. Here are a few screens from the forum:

The "home" page (uses RadTreeView, RadGrid and RadMenu)

mvc_home

The "new thread" page (shows RadEditor)

image

The "account settings" page (shows RadUpload)

The "statistics" page (shows RadPanelBar and RadChart)

To compile and run the sample project you need:

Also be sure to check the online help topics which discuss ASP.NET MVC integration.

Let us know what you think!

Looks very cool. Why do all the controls refresh (blink) on every click. every control on the page disappear for an instant and then all re-draw. looks like you use ajax controls which i assume would do everything in the background.

We are not using Ajax. There was a visual glitch in Internet Explorer which should be fixed now.

Is there any news on using RadScheduler within MVC?

We are using RC1 and now RC2 is out.  What are your plans for these release time periods?  Will these be supported or will you move directly to the live version once it is out.

    Hello,
I am trying to get this to compile in VS 2010 and the Tekerik Q2 release and I'm running into:
Error 2 'Telerik.OpenAccess.IObjectScope' does not contain a definition for 'Extent' and no extension method 'Extent' accepting a first argument of type 'Telerik.OpenAccess.IObjectScope' could be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) C:\Downloads\Telerik\Forum Built With MVC 1.0\mvc-forum1\Telerik.Mvc.Web\Controllers\StatisticsController.cs 22 35 Telerik.Mvc.Web

I ran Telerik|OpenAccess|Upgrade References but that did not help.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks - Mark
