• After the success of the DDD! Melbourne event last month, Telerik sponsored the DDD! Sydney (#dddsydney on Twitter) this weekend.

The DeveloperDeveloperDeveloper! conference is driven by the community, meaning that everyone can submit a topic and the people vote for their favorites.

In DDD! Sydney there were 4 tracks of great content about HTML5, Web, ALM and Other running in parallel. I could not attend all of them, however those I could gave me a plenty of new information and inspiration. Among the highlights were

    • S.O.L.I.D Design Principles in C# by Omar Besiso
    • New Development Workflows by David Burela. The video of his talk in DDD! Melbourne can be seen on his blog.
    • Windows Azure Acid...
  • This weekend, Telerik sponsored the SharePoint Saturday event in Brisbane, Australia (#SPSBNE). The terrible day of Rapture (Thousands said goodbye to family and friends ahead of 6pm Saturday deadline) was on this day and it was all over the news. So I was a bit worried if I should spend the last day of the world here, but Mike Rhodes had said we had lots of great speakers and I was looking forward to meeting them.

Figure: I could not resist the temptation to see those speakers

The day started out with a bang and it went from strength to strength. I found it was...

  • New Zealand's first Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) conference ran in Wellington on 6 and 7 April 2011. This is the premier event for developers and project managers in New Zealand. Telerik is proud to be one of the sponsors.

Telerik and Visual Studio 2010 at NZ ALM
Figure: As usual, Telerik and Visual Studio 2010 sit well together

The two-day conference programme was packed with high quality international and local speakers presenting on ALM and Microsoft Visual Studio 2010.

There were a lot of interesting sessions and here are the ones that I like the most:

    • Database development with the new version of SQL Server – Denali, presented by Peter Ward, SQL ...
  • Make plans to attend CodeStock

This June, I will be at the CodeStock conference in Knoxville, TN.  If you live in the area, then CodeStock offers you a great opportunity to learn about a variety of technologies.  I am honored to have been invited to sit on a panel discussion about running community conferences and user groups.  The conference will take place June 26-27 and only costs $25 if you get your tickets before June 1.  CodeStock is doing something very unique this year in allowing anyone who registers before May 15 to vote on the sessions they most want to see.  So you can actually...

  • I wanted to mention that I am going to be at the Toronto Code Camp on April 25 in Toronto, Ontario.  I will be presenting a session called “Building Business Applications with WPF, Silverlight and the Telerik RadControls”.  The session should give you a good understanding of what Telerik has to offer for the WPF and and Silverlight platforms.  If you are in the area I hope you will consider spending that Saturday learning.  The organizers need to know you are coming, so please take a moment to register on their website http://www.torontocodecamp.net.  This is the third annual event and...

  • devlinkI’ll be heading to Nashville, TN this August for DevLink 2009. And as if attending this great conference isn’t enough, they’re giving me a 3-hour time slot and room with a projector and everything. I guess that means I need to find something educational to impart to the those of you who will be in attendance. Good thing I’ve got the perfect session already planned out:

ASP.NET AJAX Client Side Framework Deep Drive
ASP.NET developers interested in creating rich, client-side web applications must develop a deep understanding of the ASP.NET AJAX client library. Join me as I show you how to...

  • If you are looking for a way to get up to speed on the latest technology, you should consider the devLink Technical Conference (www.devlink.net).  This event has been around since 2006, bringing hundreds of people the chance to learn and grow.  This is a full three day conference featuring industry experts talking about a variety of relevant topics for developers, architects, database adminstrators and even project managers.  You might think an event like this would cost $1000 or more, but you would be wrong.  As a matter of fact, the most amazing thing about devLink is the price.  At $100 a...

  • bccThat’s right, yours truly will be at the 2009 Boise Code Camp & Tech Fest this Saturday and Sunday delivering a couple of general .NET development talks. If you’re in the area you definitely don’t want to miss out on this event, because it’s going to be huge. There are already 600+ signed up to attend! For my part in all this, I’ll be talking LINQ and ASP.NET. The sessions are tentatively scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Here are the sessions descriptions:

    LINQ to Everything!
So you think you already know everything there is to know about LINQ? You've used it to query your SQL...

Conference season has been in full swing for the past couple of months, and I must say I'm glad things are settling down so I can get back into my normal routine. All this traveling has been fun - especially the opportunities to meet Telerik customers and many great members of the .NET community - but I'm ready to see the end of airports and conference halls for a few months. Those of you who travel to all the conferences and speak for a living, I have a newfound respect for you!

One of the cool things that I've brought home...

  • HDC Follow-Up

Wednesday, October 01, 2008 by Reporting Team | Go comment!

I just arrived back home from the Heartland Developer's Conference in Minneapolis, MN. Besides a stomach bug I caught on day two and the near-death experience on the flight home, I had a great time. HDC was packed with 30 sessions over two days and was attended by more than 200 developers, most of whom were locals. There were a lot of great talks and it was fun to rub shoulders with the .NET developers of the Twin Cities. I also really enjoyed meeting some great Telerik customers and hearing all the things you are doing with our controls. All-in-all, I'd...
