    This past weekend, Telerik Insider Ben Hoelting and I presented at the Silicon Valley Code Camp, where Telerik was proud to be one of the Platinum sponsors.  Attendance came in at over 2500 attendees, and there were a whole host of great sessions on both days.  The weather was great, and the attendees were very engaged.

    We had a steady stream of conversations at the booth, and Ben was kept busy talking about KendoUI on both days.  There was also a great deal of interest in Icenium, as well as all of our other Telerik products.

    Happy Coding!

  • Let’s start with some background – a common need is for a button to execute some JavaScript code in order to create a more responsive page. With the standard ASP:Button the OnClientClick is used to specify this execution statement. Take the following simple example:

    <script type="text/javascript">
        function ButtonClick(button) {
            alert("The Button with ID " + button.id + " was clicked.");
        }
    </script>
    <asp:Button ID="Button1" Text="Regular Button" OnClientClick="ButtonClick(this); return false;" runat="server" />

    What you can see here is a function called with parentheses, an argument provided to the function and the return false; statement that prevents the postback.

    The case with Telerik’s ASP.NET AJAX Button is slightly different, however. It follows the convention all other Telerik ASP.NET AJAX...

  • There will be two Windows Phone Garages in South Carolina next week. Join Glen Gordon, Chris Craft, and myself on June 16th in Columbia, SC, or join Glen Gordon, Chris G. Williams, and myself on June 17th in Greenville, SC. These will be a blast, and by participating you can win a brand new Windows Phone!

    You will build a Windows Phone application at the Windows Phone Garage, and if you use Telerik RadControls for Windows Phone, you may walk away with a license to use them! The trial comes with examples to get you started, but I’ll be on hand...

  • devlinkI’ll be heading to Nashville, TN this August for DevLink 2009. And as if attending this great conference isn’t enough, they’re giving me a 3-hour time slot and room with a projector and everything. I guess that means I need to find something educational to impart to the those of you who will be in attendance. Good thing I’ve got the perfect session already planned out:

    ASP.NET AJAX Client Side Framework Deep Drive
    ASP.NET developers interested in creating rich, client-side web applications must develop a deep understanding of the ASP.NET AJAX client library. Join me as I show you how to...

  • bccThat’s right, yours truly will be at the 2009 Boise Code Camp & Tech Fest this Saturday and Sunday delivering a couple of general .NET development talks. If you’re in the area you definitely don’t want to miss out on this event, because it’s going to be huge. There are already 600+ signed up to attend! For my part in all this, I’ll be talking LINQ and ASP.NET. The sessions are tentatively scheduled for Saturday afternoon. Here are the sessions descriptions:

    LINQ to Everything!
    So you think you already know everything there is to know about LINQ? You've used it to query your SQL...

  • Below is a table of the most common client side events in JavaScript. The Table is divided into three columns – the first lists the name of the event. The second contains a short description of the event, and the third lists all page objects, which support the given event.

    Event Name                Description  Supported by objects

     onabort

    The onabort event occurs when loading of an image is aborted.

    onblur

  • Pictures from the Road

    Conference season has been in full swing for the past couple of months, and I must say I'm glad things are settling down so I can get back into my normal routine. All this traveling has been fun - especially the opportunities to meet Telerik customers and many great members of the .NET community - but I'm ready to see the end of airports and conference halls for a few months. Those of you who travel to all the conferences and speak for a living, I have a newfound respect for you!

    One of the cool things that I've brought home...

  • Telerik is Live from PDC

    Monday, October 27, 2008 by Reporting Team | Go comment!

    PDC is in full force at the LA Convention Center. The keynote was somewhat bland, but the big news of the day is Windows Azure. Microsoft's cloud services offering, Azure promises to allow developers to host and manage their applications in the cloud, scaling storage and computing resources on demand without concern for the infrastructure that will support them. With Azure, developers will be have access to the entire spectrum of Microsoft LOB development technologies (SQL Services, Sharepoint Services, .NET Services, etc) in the cloud. Attendees of PDC will get early access to an Azure CTP, so keep an eye...

  • Join Telerik at PDC

    Thursday, October 23, 2008 by Reporting Team | Go comment!

    PDC PDC is just a few days away and Telerik is excited to be setting up shop at the conference. Whether you use our tools or are just interested in what we're up to these days, we'd love for you to stop by and say hello. This is a rare opportunity not only to interact with the evangelists but also to speak with the developers themselves; we'll have members from each product team visiting from the mother ship in Bulgaria. And as a special bonus, we'll also have a member of the development team for Telerik OpenAccess ORM present and ready to answer...

  • HDC Follow-Up

    Wednesday, October 01, 2008 by Reporting Team | Go comment!

    I just arrived back home from the Heartland Developer's Conference in Minneapolis, MN. Besides a stomach bug I caught on day two and the near-death experience on the flight home, I had a great time. HDC was packed with 30 sessions over two days and was attended by more than 200 developers, most of whom were locals. There were a lot of great talks and it was fun to rub shoulders with the .NET developers of the Twin Cities. I also really enjoyed meeting some great Telerik customers and hearing all the things you are doing with our controls. All-in-all, I'd...
