Last week we wrote about our new ASP.NET DropDownList control taking some specific functions of our existing ComboBox control, but in a more lightweight and better performing manner. Continuing this trend, it’s time to introduce another of the new members of Telerik’s ASP.NET control suite – the SearchBox.

Accessibility is becoming increasingly popular for websites and critically important for their success. The idea behind accessible website applications is allowing people with disabilities or limited access to Internet to freely navigate your content. This could be achieved by adding additional attributes and elements which could be used by special readers to provide more in depth information for what certain part of a web application is used for.

With today’s introduction of the ASP.NET MVC wrappers for Kendo UI, or Kendo UI for ASP.NET MVC as they’re officially called, many questions are sure to arise about their relationship to the Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC. While the FAQs on KendoUI.com noted our plans for ASP.NET MVC from the outset, today’s release brings more clarity to our long-term plans. In this blog post, I’m going to explain how the release of Kendo UI for ASP.NET MVC impacts the Telerik Extensions for ASP.NET MVC.

I am proud to announce the immediate availability of our Q2 2010 Preview (Beta, version 2010.2 609) release.

It contains the new controls, features and tools we plan to officially announce in July.

This Beta version of RadControls for Silverlight contains only natively built assemblies on Silverlight 4 as our major new controls and features will be built only on Silverlight 4 from now on.

We also included assemblies built against WPF 4 in this Beta release and they are available under the Beta download files along with the installation of our WPF 3.5 controls.

As we already announced in our public Roadmap, we mostly dedicated our efforts in Q1 2010 on improvements in our current offering. We have been working in several major directions: Performance, enhancements in the existing themes and we continued our Silverlight 4 development by launching weekly builds with our Silverlight 4 assemblies, thus tightly follow the Microsoft release schedule.
