Introduction

As part of our support service in Telerik we are implementing integration examples for our customers. The aim of these examples is mainly to show how to use the controls in real-life scenarios.

In the case of WP7 (Windows Phone 7) it is a little bit different. The platform is still quite new and there is high demand for examples that not only show the usage of the Telerik controls, but the usage of the platform too. Also there is a marketplace where we can show our applications to the end users too. With the official release of Telerik WP7 toolkit we decided to create an application that will serve these main goals:

  • To get you started with WP7 development,
  • Will be a reference application for the developers that uses the Telerik WP7 control toolkit,
  • Show tips and tricks about how to use specific WP7 APIs into your application,
  • Will cover also some advanced topics to show you how to squeeze the max performance of your app.

On a later stage – we will upload the application to the marketplace so that we can get feedback from the end-users and share the findings with you and help you with tips and tricks for a long term application support. You can download the application complete source code from your Telerik account (if you still do not have a Telerik account - register for free and get the completely functional trial version).

Here is the list of topics that we will get covered in the coming blog posts:

The application that we decided to implement is a very common application – a ToDo application. Watch a video of the implemented application to get you started.

If you are coming at MIX11 - I'll be happy to discuss with you any implementation details and also to preview the application on the phone. Just stop by the Telerik booth or let me know on twitter @ValioStoychev.

Let's get started with the next blog post of the series.
