Telerik blogs

I am happy to officially announce that the Q2 2012 release of Telerik's ASP.NET AJAX controls is out of our door and you can start using it in your applications immediately. Probably most of you have heard already the news from Telerik's press release. For the rest, hurry up and download a trial now or go to your account to get the licensed version.

You can see what new features we have shipped with the Q2 2012 release by visiting our What's New page or by checking the release notes to get a better idea of what is fixed as well. I also would like to bring your attention to the new stuff you shouldn't miss.

If you've read my previous blog post, you already know that, we have a new HtmlChart control based on HTML5, a Barcode component which is easy to use and supports most of the standards, and the ODataDataSource component to help you query OData service and building data models by clicking in the VS designer. And all the new awesome features available for our existing controls, and most of them are requested by you, our customers and roadmap drivers.

The major new thing not included in the Q2 2012 Beta is our new MetroTouch Skin. It is especially designed with bigger elements, like buttons and fonts to make your applications accessible and easy to use on mobile devices. To see it in action, you can check the MetroTouch Skin demos in the What's New section of all controls. There you can even scan the QR code to fully experience the difference and see how your applications may look like. Check this demo for example, ain't it cool :).

The other new feature which is worth mentioning is the New Excel Export we implemented for the ASP.NET AJAX Grid. It's binary, it's fast and it overcomes most of the limitations of the current export formats. You will learn more about it from the upcoming special blog post.
