A New Product to Be Launched with Q2 Release

We saved the cherry of the Q2 2009 release for a final highlight of our pre-release teaser – a mysterious new product is to appear in Telerik’s portfolio in a matter of days. The new addition pays tribute to Telerik’s community and its incessant support for our products and services – the tool is absolutely free, no strings attached! (While with Q2 it will be released as Beta version, with its official launch later during the quarter it will *remain free*).

The product is designed to address web developers’ urge to create perfected applications. It will be able to address your advanced needs since its up-to-date with the latest web technologies – AJAX, JavaScript, LINQ, client-side databinding, Silverlight and more. This new tool will be distributed as a separate installation as well as part of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX and RadControls for Silverlight installers.

If you got already hooked on Telerik’s new product, stick around for Q2 Release!

Ok, so "Remain Free" means we already have it as free...

Style builder perhaps?  Templates?  WebAii Something?

I guess it's not the visual style builder, as it was the first product to appear in the flash ahnimation:

    Style Builder
    WinForms
    Silverlight
    ORM
    SURPRISE!!!

Actually it says the beta in q2 is free and the full version will "remain free".

My money is on some form of Refactor/Code Rush type tool...

with Q2 we are adding a brand new product to Telerik’s portfolio – a FREE web testing framework including wrappers for RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX/Silverlight.

I hate these teasers. Just announce or don't. None of your competitors will be able to trump your release of whatever it is in two days so why not just announce it a little early and create an actual feeling of anticipation instead of these teasers which, at least to me, never have much affect.

I would suggest you all have a look at your downloads page.  Q2 has been available for two days (5 days ahead of schedule!), and when you install it you'll find out what the free product is.  Excellent release Telerik.

Shaun, it was a deliberate mistake. We wanted to check who'd be dowloading the Q2 stuff rather than enjoying the 4th of July weekend:) Seems you are one of the people who uncovered the "secret". Glad you like it though.

Just a hint: the release madness will continue and we will ship something new, and pretty cool, in the last week of July.

Hey, I'm not complaining.  I've already switched most of my apps to use the Q2 release and have swapped out my old CAPTCHA controls with the new RadCaptcha.  Awesome!
