XAMLflix Presents RadHtmlPlaceholder

Hello everyone and welcome back to XAMLflix with RadHtmlPlaceholder for Silverlight and WPF. I hope you have been enjoying the series so far. Last week we introduced the RadDataForm and RadUpload. In today’s episode, we will take a look at the RadHtmlPlaceholder and see just easy you can insert HTML or load a web page inside of a Silverlight application.

What is XAMLflix you might ask? Well, it is Telerik’s way of teaching you how to use both new and existing controls from Telerik’s XAML suite. Each and every Thursday, we will provide a fresh batch of videos and sample projects highlighting a different control. Since our Silverlight and WPF share a common codebase and API, you only have to learn how to use these controls once! You can simply copy and paste the code between frameworks.

RadHtmlPlaceholder – Web content inside of your Silverlight/WPF Application!

The RadHtmlPlaceholder control for Silverlight allows you to host HTML content in your Silverlight application. It allows you to controls the HTML content size and position in order the content to act as if it is part of the Silverlight application's layout. You can also insert custom HTML or load a web page.

• Getting Started with RadHtmlPlaceholder – In this video, we will dive into Visual Studio 2010 and begin with File -> New Project and discover what the RadHtmlPlaceholder control has to offer. With RadHtmlPlaceholder, you can insert custom HTML or load a web page with ease. (Download the Project)
• Setting Content in Code Behind and Special Events with RadHtmlPlaceholder – In this video, we will see how easy it is to specify the content using code-behind and take a look at a special event handler. (Download the Project)
• Integrate RadHtmlPlaceholder with RadWindow – By integrating the RadHtmlPlaceholder with RadWindow you can simulate an Html popup behavior from the Silverlight page. (Download the Project)
