• Just a few weeks after our successful Q2 2012 release which introduced the highly anticipated RadAutoCompleteBox and RadChartView, it is time for a service pack. RadControls for WinForms Service Pack 1 is out and available for download. As always, we packed the latest update with a bunch of hot fixes and improvements throughout the whole suite. However, this time there is some exciting news! With this service pack, I would like to officially introduce the first public version of RadPivotGrid for WinForms! This early version comes in the form of Community Technology Preview and supports all the basic features – grouping,...

  • Introduction

Last week, we had our first Windows 8 webinar titled, “Why build for Windows 8 and how RadControls for Metro can help.” One question that we attempted to answer is, “Why build for Windows 8 now?” “Why not wait until a future date when the platform is more stable?” These questions are valid from a consumer and an enterprise point-of-view and I’ll try to explain why we believe that you should start writing applications for Windows 8 today.

4 Solid Reasons to Start Building Today

Reason #1: You are building for the next generation of the most popular operating system in...

  • In keeping with one of our favorite traditions, it is a great pleasure to announce the first service pack of Q2 for RadControls for Silverlight and RadControls for WPF. As usual, we are shipping numerous improvements across all the controls.  The most exciting news, however, is that the service pack includes the first public CTP version of RadPivotGrid. Our pivot control is a very powerful tool for slicing and dicing your complex data in a meaningful way.

    Check it out…

    RadPivotGrid

The PivotGrid CTP version comes with the following features:

    • Pivot UI Layouts:  Compact, Outline, Tabular
    • Tooltips
    • UI Virtualization Quick Styles (Easy...
  • It’s been a newsworthy week for Telerik’s ASP.NET AJAX customers. We managed to publish the official Q3 2012 roadmap (hope you find what you need there) and pushed out a fresh Q2 2012 Service Pack. And what a service pack! It’s not an ordinary maintenance release, because we shipped two long-awaited controls with it – PivotGrid (CTP) and AutoCompleteBox. :-)

RadPivotGrid for ASP.NET AJAX is now available as a CTP. Still, the control has all the basic features, such as paging, sorting, drag-and-drop fields, scrolling (vertical and horizontal), etc. You can bind the component using declarative DataSource controls or programmatically bind the...

  • Two weeks ago we released a public BETA of the world’s first commercial library for building Windows 8 Metro applications – Telerik RadControls for Metro. So far we have gathered lots of positive feedback as well as some specific questions regarding our XAML components. Such an interesting question is whether our controls can be used in a C++ application.

Prior to WinRT (Windows Runtime), the XAML platform was available to managed developers only and we, at Telerik, have solid technical background with C# and .NET. That’s why we have built our Metro XAML components using C# and the .NET runtime. We performed...

  • We showed off the RadControls for Metro Beta in a very well attended Webinar on July 24.  Interest was very high and we stayed through a second hour answering all the comments and questions.

Check out this blog post where we review the webinar and provide links to view the webinar (in case you missed any part of it), and download the slides and the source code.

Here is a list of the key questions and their answers

Can we get the Beta now?

Yes, you can download it here.

Are there any memory leaks in XAML Metro Apps?

We have designed our controls to...

  • It is gone… Merged in Telerik.Windows.Controls.Input.xaml. But you can still extract it, just read on.

A while back ago we have released the styles for all our controls and themes of the RadControls for Silverlight and WPF suites as ResourceDictionary xaml files containing implicit styles. Currently they could be merged in the App.xaml files of your application and would apply globally. Of course there is more information available in the help sections:

Some of the benefits are that the styles are no longer hidden in a dll’s resources but rather exposed in your application. And so it is easier to re-style some of the controls or...

  • The number one request currently on the JustDecompile UserVoice is to “add an API for plugins,” and we take user demands seriously! If you have the new version of JustDecompile, you may have noticed a rather interesting main menu item (if you need to update, check out the brand new Telerik Control Panel).

    Introducing Plugins

    image

You may find that your menu only has the Plugins Manager, which means you need to install a plugin!  You can do this by going to the Plugins Manager. At this time, the manager displays a list of installed plugins and gives you a button to obtain new...

  • Introduction

    Hello everyone,

We wanted to thank you all for attending the Windows 8 Webinar yesterday. As we promised in the webinar all of the materials are now available for you to download and explore on your own. If you have any questions then feel free to leave a comment below. We’d also suggest that you download the RadControls for Metro if you haven’t already.

For those that couldn’t attend, What is RadControls for Metro?

RadControls for Metro is the toolset for building Metro apps that run on tablets and large screens no matter if you are coming from the XAML or HTML/JavaScript...

  • How many times have you installed freshly downloaded software and wondered where and how to really start using it? Yeah, we’ve experienced that a lot, too. Having that frustration in mind, we created the JustCode Getting Started Wizard. It’s the new non-obtrusive, quick introduction and setup tool, that shows you the main JustCode features together with two short configuration steps to help you start using JustCode right away.

The wizard will appear only once upon fresh installation of JustCode. You won’t see it anymore once you’ve gone through the setup process. You can also close it manually anytime and invoke it...
