Telerik Silverlight - Best of Connections

Once again the Telerik RadControls for Silverlight have been noticed, and in a big way!  During the fall DevConnections the judges looked long and hard at all of the ASP.Net and Silverlight control suites on the market and decided that our humble suite would be the winner.  Check the post here from 'Connections for the group shot of our our staff at the conference.

Of course, people are probably wondering just why the RadControls for Silverlight won, after all, there is a lot of competition on the market.  So as one of the Xaml Evangelists here at Telerik I put together a short list of reasons why we think we deserved this award above and beyond what the judges had to say.

Data Visualization - We've Got That

We've had one of the top charts on the market, but with the Q3 Beta we announced our new cross-platform charting solution - RadChartingKit.  The charting engine used for our RadControls for Windows Phone 7 and RadControls for Silverlight/WPF suites is new, powerful, and more customizable and versatile than anything we've ever produced, so much so we've even had success porting it over to WinRT Xaml.  And this is only the beginning, we've got a few surprises lined up for after the Q3 release, not to mention things like RadTreeMap, RadPivotMap, RadSparklines, RadTimeBar - need I go on?  :)

Rich Document Solutions

Now I specifically say solutions for a few reasons, some of which I can discuss here and some of which you'll see reaching the light of day in the next few months.  RadRichTextBox is easily recognized as one of the most complete and easy to use rich text editing solutions for Silverlight out there, complete with both RadSpellChecker and RadImageEditor integration that provides for a complete experience.  Did I mention it has a Wizard feature that allows you to go from File > New Project to a fully-functional rich text editing solution in about a minute?  Yeah, that right there is what us developers call "the ability to wow clients and still go home on time at the end of the day". 

Grids, Docking, and All The Rest

I could go on and on about our rediculously fast and feature-rich RadGridView, the newly updated RadDocking that allows for a Visual Studio 2010-like interface in your applications, our recently revamped RadScheduleView that allows for multi-level resource grouping, appointment virtualization, and easy customizations, or any other of the 70+ (and growing) controls that have made this suite a hit since we first launched with Silverlight 1.
