Have you ever wondered how to print your RadGridView and RadScheduler instances? I guess you have. Yet, this is one of the most voted features in our Public Issue Tracking System. The good news is that Q1 2012 is close and printing support for RadGridView and RadScheduler will be a part of it.

This support will allow the end-user to directly pass RadGridView and RadScheduler data to the printer. S\he does not need to export the data to other formats in advance (PDF, Excel, etc.) in order to print it, nor should s\he scan his\her monitor :-)

An unusual thing happened at the Telerik Windows Phone team product planning meeting for Q1 2012 a few months ago. Instead of starting with our usual mantra “What does our customer need in order to build a great app?” we talked about love. What does love have to do with a mobile app you would ask? Well, a lot. Looking at the appsfuse.com 100 Most Rated Publishers list on the Windows Phone Marketplace I was very happy to see one of our customers - Liquid Daffodil on number 10. Congrats!

And the other thing that I wanted to share with you today is this lovely retrospective infographic, posted by Brandon Watson, showing how the Windows Phone Marketplace, the developer mindshare and customer interest has evolved over in 2011.

 

 

Last year Telerik sponsored the WP7 Unleashed Events – a series of hands-on lab events organized by Microsoft and the local communities. 25 apps of all applications submitted at the end of each event were selected and one of them won the Telerik Grand Prize – $5000. The winner of the big prize was Jack of Tools - the app that turns your phone into a virtual tool belt.

We are thrilled about this week’s addition of Chris Sells to the Telerik team.  If you haven’t already heard, Chris, a world-renowned industry veteran, has joined Telerik as Vice President of the Developer Tools division.   

His division will be responsible for a number of UI control sets – including WinForms, WPF, Silverlight and ASP.NET – as well as a number of tools – including the Just line, OpenAccess ORM, and Telerik Reporting.  They will be ensuring developers are making the most of existing platforms while staying well-equipped for the future.

I just found out a very useful, free monitoring tool for Windows Phone apps called Distimo Monitor. It gives you valuable insights as to what affects downloads and revenues of your app.

It provides of course Downloads and Revenue reports by country, day etc. like you would expect.  The two more interesting features are the Rankings and the Events reports. You can see the rankings of your app/apps for each day and country and how it evolved over time. Just a few short weeks ago, Telerik was a proud sponsor for 2011 ‘Agile Testing Days’ event in Potsdam, Germany.
