Telerik blogs

With the Q3 2010 release approaching, we stay true to our tradition to reveal in advance details about the most exciting additions and improvements across all product lines. The first blog of the series to follow is dedicated to the WPF suite. Do not forget to check the Marketing team blog regularly in the next weeks to learn what’s cooking in the other products’ offerings as well.

The spotlight of the Q3 2010 release for RadControls for WPF falls on a brand new scheduling component. The RadScheduleView goes beyond the standard Microsoft Outlook-style control, empowering end users with unprecedented control over precision and flexibility when handling their appointments. This is achieved through advanced features such as: multi-level grouping – allowing you to display multiple resources and group the appointments accordingly; powerful zoom for smart navigation through a large number of appointments; exact rendering of appointments and more.

The performance of the control is secured through built-in databinding capabilities and UI virtualization with container recycling, which result in extremely fast and smooth scrolling of thousands and millions of appointments.

Another interesting addition to the suite is the Sparklines control, used for quick graphical data visualization in the context of words, numbers or images. Their simple design and clear readability are the best way to represent important trends of any business or other endeavor. The Sparklines are designed to be very small in size so they can fit perfectly among any text or to be placed in a simple grid along with other numeric data.

On the performance front, where we are constantly improving our controls, Q3 2010 brings extended Data Virtualization support for controls such as RadGridView, RadTreeView, RadBook and RadComboBox. The Data Virtualization technique ensures great performance and user experience improvements especially when dealing with very large sets of data.

A new Expression Dark Theme will be also available with the release. See below a preview of the theme.
