The New Telerik.com

smalltelerikcom For the past several months, we've been rebuilding & redesigning the Telerik.com web site.  Our existing web site had served us very well, but it was beginning to show some age.  We were anxious to utilize some of the newer techniques & technologies available to us and, in the end, hopefully offer a better experience to our customers.

Telerik.com is a big a web site and rebuilding it wasn't a trivial task.  Not only does Telerik.com get a lot of traffic, but it also contains a TON of content (product information, demos, support articles, forum posts, etc.).  To support this task we needed a platform and content management system (CMS) that was flexible enough to merge with our existing systems and support the traffic load.

[Wait a second, I feel a sales pitch coming...]

Of course we chose Telerik's own Sitefinity CMS for this task.  The entire project was done in 10 minutes and we were so far under budget that we turned a profit.  Next week we're all traveling to Hawaii to celebrate.

I'm just joking.  In fact, rebuilding Telerik.com on the Sitefinity CMS taught us a lot.  Many of the performance improvements found in the Sitefinity 3.5 release were a direct result of this project.  In the coming months we'll see many more Sitefinity improvements that were also a result of the new Telerik.com.  We have now become one of our own biggest customers.

For now, please take a look at the new web site.  We sincerely hope you enjoy it!  As always, your feedback is greatly desired & appreciated.

P.S.  Huge congrats to the team.

The new Website looks absolutely great and it's a true reflection of your products. I'll be giving some feedback as I use it and if I find any issues! ..Ben

Site is good now. The URL http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/ is not working, it's just blank. And the examples project throws 121 errors when we ran it jinishans

Hi, I like the new web site overall. The information is arranged very well on the product pages. I have a few small comments :- * The home page seems a little "empty" to me. It doesn't give an impression of the strength and comprehensive nature of the products and content on the site. * The product pages resources page have a list of select Webinars and white papers but there is no link to the full list of them. Overall I'm very impressed with the look and the layout. Information seems to be much more available. Clayton.

Hi telerik. I really like the site. I was surprised it was build on Sitefinity, because I haven't seen such website that is build on Sitefinity with these enhancements... leaves the question to you: is it maybe possible to make a case study about how the site is set up in Sitefinity and maybe some tips & tricks for the Sitefinity community? As for the Hawaii celebration: I personally can recommend Hawaii :) (Thanks to telerik....) Greetings Daniel

HI Daniel, As I mentioned in my blog post a few minutes ago, we will be posting some details about the implementation - designs, wireframes, details on how we converted some of the old code, new features we added to Sitefinity during the implementation, and os on. I hope that I will be bale to persuade the team to do a TelerikTV episode:) And thanks to everyone for the positive feedback!
